What I Learned

From this class I have learned a lot of different things. I learned how to work better in groups and how it is essential to communicate with everyone in the group in order to meet the overall goals that the group is trying to achieve. Even though i dont like group projects at all it really helped  my communication skills and leadership skills. I also learned the different types of arguments and I thought that was interesting because it showed different persuasion techniques to go alone with it. The persuasion techniques was interesting to learn about because it gave me some insight on how I can persuade or convince my audience to take my side in a situation for the future. I thought I knew most of the things that we learned about, but I only knew a gist of some of the things and this class was able to help me broaden my knowledge on the topic of critical thinking.

  1. Even though it was pretty difficult to find meeting times and communicating with unresponsive group members, I side with you that I did learn to work better in groups. The first group assignment was the most difficult to arrange. But as more group assignments passed, the better my group was able to contact each other very quickly. I, like you, grew as a person with leadership skills because it helped me take control but also make sure everyone has equal work loads. You would think this would be a common sense class because the key concepts are arguments and thinking. But there is so much more that this class has offered that helped us grow overall.

  2. I really didn’t like the way grading worked on the group projects so I certainly have my complaints about them, but I agree with you about learning from the benefits they provide. In one of my groups I kind of took charge which helped me learn a little bit about leadership and getting a group to work on a common goal. Interestingly enough, the reason I did that is because I didn’t like the leadership in my first group, and because I didn’t speak up to my group my grade suffered. So to prevent that same thing happening twice I decided to lead, and my grade was much better. This gave me a boost of confidence and I think I am a better leader and organizer than I was before.
